Since the 20th century, as exhibitions have become the central domain for displaying artworks, a strong awareness of space has also become an important characteristic of calligraphers’ creations
The exhibition title ‘The Coming of the Great Waves’ is based on this concept, not only representing the vastness of space but also the expansiveness of vision, exploring how artists respond to towering white walls with calligraphic creations and the perspectives from different cultural backgrounds
This exhibition invites four artists: Bu Zi, Li Maocheng, Wada Takashi, and Yu Tongsheng, who, through variations in scale, script, style, content,字数, color, and material, breathe new life into traditional calligraphy and reflect the myriad aspects of contemporary calligraphic art
The exhibition is open from September 28th to November 2nd, with specific business hours subject to the day’s opening status
