The Oriental Pearl Tower

The Oriental Pearl Tower stands tall in Lujiazui, Pudong, Shanghai, facing the Bund across the river, and is a landmark of the city. Dining at the 267-meter-high revolving restaurant while admiring the night view of Shanghai is an extraordinary experience. The tower reaches a height of 468 meters and consists of 11 spheres of different sizes linked together. This design is inspired by the beautiful image of ‘large and small pearls falling onto a jade plate.’ Climbing to the three main spheres allows visitors to appreciate the urban scenery of both sides of the Huangpu River from varying heights. Particularly, standing on the 259-meter-high fully transparent observation deck provides a unique ‘walking in the air’ experience to enjoy the panoramic view of Shanghai. Visiting the observation deck at night to feel the vibrant colors of the ‘city that never sleeps’ under the night sky is an unforgettable pleasure. The Oriental Pearl Tower is also a small world of entertainment, gourmet food, exhibitions, and shopping. At the Shanghai Urban Development History Exhibition Hall at the base of the tower, visitors can learn about the changes in modern Shanghai’s history. Experience the thrilling 95-meter-high ‘Sky VR Roller Coaster.’ After tiring out, one can enjoy a variety of global cuisines at the revolving restaurant while watching live cooking and food preparation performances. At the end of the journey, visitors can choose souvenirs at the specialty goods floor, or buy a postcard and stamp it with the air post office’s seal to send to themselves or loved ones they wish to bless. The tower is open all year round from 09:00 to 21:00; on National Day, it opens from 08:30 to 21:00. Preferential policies include: Children under 1 meter (not including) enter for free; those between 1 meter (including) and 1.3 meters (including) or aged 6 years old (including) pay half price.
