The Wukang Building is located at No. 1842-1858 Huaihai Middle Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai. The building was originally constructed in 1924 and has been home to many celebrities from the culture and entertainment industry. The Wukang Building covers an area of 1580 square meters, with a total construction area of 9275 square meters. The overall structure of the building is made of reinforced concrete, standing eight stories high with a total height of over 30 meters, featuring a French Renaissance architectural style. Due to the limited geographical location, the ground floor of the building is designed in the style of an arcade, with shop windows recessed to leave space for pedestrian walkways. Additionally, the exterior walls of the first and second floors are made of cement to imitate stone walls, creating a base style for the building. From the third to the seventh floor, the exterior walls are covered with yellow-brown bricks. The eighth floor, which is the top floor, continues to use cement to imitate stone walls, thus presenting three distinct sections of the building. On the third and eighth floors, the designer uses continuous long balconies as waistlines for the three stages, enhancing its sense of hierarchy. On the north side of the building, to solve the problem of room lighting, the designer specifically reserved two large courtyards on the north side. The building is open all year round and the historic exterior is available for visits 24 hours a day.
