Pujiang Country Park is located on Puxing Road, Minhang District, Shanghai (north side of Dazhi River). It is a ‘suburban urban forest-type country park with forest recreation and waterfront leisure as its main functions’. In terms of its characteristic positioning, this is a suburban autumn scenery park with artistic theme characteristics. Countryside, city, art, and autumn scenery are its keywords. This place is originally full of original ecological wild charm and also has rich cultural and artistic resources. To the north is the Shanghai Theatre Academy. To the east, China Film World (tentative name) will be introduced. To the west is the Changshou Zen Temple. During the construction process, these cultural resources will be fully utilized to provide citizens with artistic leisure spaces such as forest performing arts, Zen quiet gardens, art workshops, and gardening islands. The country park will try to maintain the current vegetation to ensure its wild charm. The first-phase start-up area has rich vegetation. According to the requirements of ecological, species, and landscape diversity, the keynote tree species are evergreen camphor trees, deciduous ginkgo and tallow trees, as well as magnolia grandiflora, cedar, osmanthus, Koelreuteria bipinnata var. integrifoliola, firs, albizia, etc. There are nearly a dozen special tree species. The soapberry for leaf viewing, the persimmon tree, jujube tree, and loquat tree for fruit viewing, cherry blossoms, azaleas, and begonias in spring, wisteria, canna, and wild roses in summer. Of course, the autumn tree species such as hibiscus and hibiscus syriacus are definitely indispensable. There are also bird-loving tree species such as holly, pyracantha, and idesia polycarpa. Presumably, it is to attract birds to settle down. In addition, there are aquatic plants, vines, and bamboo plants. With so many plants, walking into the park is equivalent to walking into a natural oxygen bar. The four highlights of the park are: Gardening Island: Create highly ornamental gardening landscapes and form a characteristic gardening island located in the forest. There are a proper amount of buildings on the island, and customers can participate in gardening production and exhibitions. Egret and Willow Bank: Retain the existing willows and water systems, introduce animals such as egrets, and create an atmosphere full of wild charm and nature. It is also an important ecological protection area and animal habitat in the park. Orchard Picking: Convert the current sapling forest into a picking forest to provide urbanites with a place to experience picking and farming. Waterfront Camping: Based on the good forest and rich water system on the west side of Puxing Road, set up multiple types of camping spots. Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:30 to 17:00. The Miracle Flower Area (50 yuan/person) opening hours: 8:30 – 17:00; Vitality Forest Area and Liulu Field Area: Free admission, opening hours: 8:30 – 17:00; Riverside Strolling Area and Forest Recreation Area: Open areas.
