In 2024, over 2300 years have passed since Qu Yuan gazed at the cosmos and asked, ‘To what do the sun and moon belong? How are the stars arrayed?’ A thousand years later, someone observed the constellations and depicted over 1350 stars in a Dunhuang scroll. More than 620 years ago, Wan Hu launched himself into the sky with a homemade rocket and a kite, never to return to Earth. Yet, it has only been 54 years since the Chinese sent artificial satellites into space. The journey of exploring the vast sky for thousands of years has left indelible marks, and now we gather these traces in a brand-new original space culture IP, ‘Boundless Sky’ – China’s Space Immersive Art Exhibition. The exhibition will make its debut in Beijing, attracting over 150,000 visitors during its 156-day run to explore the mysteries of Chinese space endeavors. In 2024, we set sail again, from the winter solstice to early summer, from Beijing to Shanghai. At the Shanghai Himalayas Art Museum, spanning nearly 2500 square meters, we will journey together into the universe and delve into the mysteries of space. ‘Boundless Sky’ Exhibition Hours: June 8th to October 7th, Monday to Thursday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM; Friday to Sunday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
