Shanghai Haiwan National Forest Park Co., Ltd. is funded and constructed by Bright Food Group Co., Ltd. It was established in May 1999, covering an area of 1065.1 hectares (16,000 mu). It is 5.3 kilometers long from east to west and 2 kilometers wide from north to south. In December 2004, it was officially named Shanghai Haiwan National Forest Park by the State Forestry Administration, becoming the third 4A-level national forest park in Shanghai after ‘Sheshan National Forest Park’ and ‘Dongping National Forest Park’. Shanghai Haiwan National Forest Park is a large artificial urban ecological forest park with a relatively large area, the largest variety of vegetation, a high degree of canopy closure, and good air quality within the scope of Shanghai. The park shapes the urban ecological landscape style, follows the trend of implementing the scientific concept of development, fully demonstrates the beautiful coastal scenery of Shanghai, the vibrant resource advantages and location advantages, and has great potential for developing comprehensive and diverse cultural tourism of forests.
