Shanghai Haiwan National Forest Park Co., Ltd. is funded and constructed by Bright Food Group Co., Ltd. It was established in May 1999, covering an area of 1065.1 hectares (16,000 mu). It is 5.3 kilometers long from east to west and 2 kilometers wide from north to south. In December 2004, it was officially named Shanghai Haiwan National Forest Park by the State Forestry Administration, becoming the third 4A-level national forest park in Shanghai after ‘Sheshan National Forest Park’ and ‘Dongping National Forest Park’. Shanghai Haiwan National Forest Park is a large artificial urban ecological forest park with a relatively large area, the largest variety of vegetation, a high degree of canopy closure, and good air quality within the scope of Shanghai. The park shapes the urban ecological landscape style, follows the trend of implementing the scientific concept of development, fully demonstrates the beautiful coastal scenery of Shanghai, the vibrant resource advantages and location advantages, and has great potential for developing comprehensive and diverse cultural tourism of forests. This scenic area has become a holiday and leisure gathering place integrating multiple functions such as tourism, leisure and sightseeing, scientific research and popular science education, and has rich cultural landscapes and beautiful forest scenery. In summer, stay at the Niulu camping camp, check in easily with just a bag, explore the forest at night, and look for mysterious little insects in the forest under the guidance of the Big Dipper. The Niulu lakeside camp in Haiwan will also open soon. At the Man Dao camp in the park, you can enjoy the forest water world, paddle boards, kayaks, rainbow platform boats, and canoes to bring you close to the different summer forest in Shanghai. The educated youth hostel takes you to recall your youth, enjoy the green forest and lotus pond, and taste rural delicacies. The forest amusement park, forest barbecue club, forest farm food, forest paintball field, Jialiang horse ranch, etc. invite you to enjoy the free summer breeze and have fun in Haiwan Forest. Elderly: Those over 70 years old (inclusive) with senior citizen cards or ID cards are free; elderly people aged 60 (inclusive) to 69 (inclusive) with their valid certificates need to purchase half-price tickets on site at the scenic spot.
