Also known as the Shanghai Exhibition Hall, this venue has long been the host for a variety of domestic and international exhibitions. The exhibition center was constructed in 1955 and was originally named the ‘Sino-Soviet Friendship Building’. It is one of the iconic structures in Shanghai and the first large-scale building constructed in the city during the 1950s. The grand, symmetrical architecture, the emblematic red five-pointed star, the fountains, sculptures in front of the main hall, and the well-maintained surroundings all contribute to its architectural grandeur. Inside, the high arched dome, column reliefs, crystal chandeliers, and every detail exude a sense of stability and splendor, showcasing the architectural style. The hall regularly hosts a diverse range of exhibitions, attracting large crowds each time, ensuring that visitors always leave with some gain. The opening hours are subject to the exhibitions; the center is not open to the public when there are no exhibitions.
