The Shanghai Stadium is commonly known as the stadium for ten thousand people. It was completed in 1975, covering an area of 106,000 square meters and with a construction area of 47,800 square meters. It is one of the early large stadiums in Shanghai. Nowadays, many cultural activities such as concerts are held here every year. Due to its functional transformation, the stadium also has the name of Shanghai Grand Stage. The main body of the Shanghai Stadium is a circular competition hall with a diameter of 114 meters and a height of 33 meters. The roof adopts a steel pipe grid structure, which is welded together by more than 9,000 seamless steel pipes and 938 steel balls. The area of the competition hall is 31,000 square meters, and the hall has 18,000 seats. The equipment is novel, including movable grandstands, foldable basketball stands, program-controlled dimming equipment, air conditioning equipment, photoelectric control timing and scoring boards, etc. Opening hours: Open from 09:00 to 19:30 all year round.
