At this time, taking a traditional boat ride on the Xishi River is arguably the quintessential experience of visiting Xizha. The night performances in Xizha are also very rich. On good weather days, sitting on the benches in the Grand Theater Square to watch an open-air vintage movie exudes a nostalgic charm. For those interested in experiencing local art, storytelling and flower drum opera would be your ideal choices. Walking along the streets, you might often encounter the elderly on their night rounds, striking a wooden clapper with the cry of ‘The weather is dry, be careful with fire,’ echoing through the air, making one feel as if they have stepped into the ancient memories of Wuzhen. The area is open all year round from Monday to Thursday, and Sunday from 09:00 to 22:00; and on Friday and Saturday from 09:00 to 22:30.
