Fei Lai La Ya Mei Da Da Road, also known as Dutch Garden Avenue and Dutch Garden Main Street, is located in the central part of the Macau Peninsula. The road runs from northeast to southwest. It starts at the intersection of Dong Wang Yang Street and Shui Keng Wei Street in the south, and ends at Mei Fu Jiang Avenue in the north, serving as an important north-south passage on the Macau Peninsula. In the late 19th century to the early 20th century, eight two-story noble-style residences and schools were built in this area, representing a cluster of buildings influenced by the neoclassical style in Macau, collectively known as the ‘Eight Houses’. These eight houses include the current Cultural Affairs Bureau, Historical Archives, Tap Seac Multifunction Cultural Centre, and the Ricci Institute among others. The area is open all year round and accessible 24 hours a day, with specific operational status subject to the daily opening conditions.
