Nüwa Temple

Nüwa Temple is located at the intersection of Caodui Street and Sanba Street in Macau. It can be reached by foot from the Senado Square to the Ruins of St. Paul’s. The temple’s architecture is rather unremarkable and resembles ordinary residential buildings. The main entrance originally faced Sanba Street, but now the open space in front of the temple is the site of the former shrine, with the temple connected to a fabric shop at the back. In the winter of 1914, a fire at the fabric shop led to the destruction of the temple’s main hall. Since reconstruction was not possible, only half of the temple remains. After renovation, a ‘Lingyan Temple’ was built adjacent to it. The temple is open all year round from 08:00 to 15:00, with specific operational status subject to daily opening conditions.
