The Municipal Garden is located on the island of Taipa and was established in 1955. It is part of the ‘Dragon Circle Portuguese Rhyme’ scenic area. The garden follows the natural slope of the mountain, stretching from the tourist attraction of Our Lady of Carmo Church to the Dragon Circle Portuguese Rhyme Residential Museum, with park paths leading to the downtown area of Taipa. Adjacent to the garden are the Taipa Municipal Library and the Carmo Swimming Pool, providing cultural and recreational facilities. The main features of the garden include the statue of Luis de Camões, small fountains, and surrounding shaded pergolas. The garden is open all year round and is accessible 24 hours a day, with specific operating hours subject to the garden’s daily opening status.
