Phra Phrom: The Four-Faced Brahma

Phra Phrom, meaning Brahma King, is the principal deity in Hinduism from India. When worshiping Phra Phrom, people typically use flowers, incense, candles, and wooden elephants, or release sparrows, while the wealthy may hire several young women dressed in traditional Thai ethnic costumes to sing and dance to music in front of the Buddha statue, aiming to worship, thank, or fulfill vows in gratitude for divine favor. Opposite the Taipa Jockey Club stands a statue of Phra Phrom, known in Thailand as the ‘granting all wishes’ Buddha. This Buddha has four faces representing career, love, health, and wealth, overseeing all worldly affairs. Open all year round, it is accessible 24 hours a day.
