Our Lady of the Rosary Church, also known as St. Lazarus Church, is one of the earliest Chinese churches in Macau. Before the establishment of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in the main square, it served as the cathedral of the Bishop of Macau. The church was built to assist leprosy patients, and a leper hospital was also constructed beyond the old city wall. At the entrance of the church square, stands a cross from the time of the church’s founding. The church is open to visitors from 7:00 to 12:00 and from 14:30 to 18:00 all year round.
