Beitou District Cisheng Palace

Constructed during the Yongli era of the Ming Dynasty, Cisheng Palace was jointly established by residents from Tong’an and Zhangzhou counties in Fujian Province. It is an important temple in the Beitou District and serves as a significant spiritual sustenance for the older generations of people from the Qililian area. Its long history places it alongside Guandu Palace in terms of antiquity. The Qililian region was once the cradle of agriculture in the northern part of Tamsui, and Cisheng Palace, also known as the ‘Temple of the Five Grains Emperor’, primarily worships the Five Grains Emperor, the Heavenly Mother of Mercy, and the Earth God. The Five Grains Emperor, who is the god of the five grains, is also the origin of the temple’s name.
