Located at the foot of Maohuo Mountain in Jinshan Village, Guanxi Town, Hsinchu County, the Sanmin Bat Cave is a limestone cave with an unfathomable depth and scarce human presence. As the sun sets, thousands of bats swarm and fly across the sky, weaving and intertwining with the misty light and sunset, creating a spectacular sight, thus earning the reputation of one of the twelve scenic spots in Hsinchu known as ‘Maohuo Bat Flight’. When entering the Bat Cave, it is advised to wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants. The cave entrance is narrow, allowing only one person to enter sideways. Bats rest on the top of the cave, and the interior is rugged and narrow, with ups and downs, and water droplets occasionally falling from the cave ceiling. After exiting the cave, one might emerge with a dusty and dirty appearance. The cave is open all year round, available 24 hours a day.
