The Jinmian Mountain Nature Trail is located near the De Ming University of Technology and Commerce on the Inner Lake Ring Road, not far from the Xihu MRT Station. This nature trail is one of the most challenging in Taipei, with nearly vertical rock faces visible from the start. The trail is lined with ancient sandstone steps that give way to rock wall paths as the incline increases, with some sections requiring the use of ropes for an exciting ascent. Along the hike, you can admire the dramatic mountain rocks, and halfway up the mountain, there is a stone fortress lookout from a Qing Dynasty quarry, which can be considered a landmark building. Upon reaching the summit, there is a massive rock that serves as a vantage point for overlooking the Taipei cityscape and the scenery along the Keelung River. The trail is open all year round, 24 hours a day, with specific operating conditions subject to daily availability.
