Guizikeng Soil and Water Conservation Teaching Park

The Guizikeng Soil and Water Conservation Teaching Park is located in Beitou District, Taiwan. The park has the ancient Wuzhishan Formation in the Taipei area. The rock stratum contains kaolin and quartz sand with extremely high purity, which are the main industrial raw materials for manufacturing ceramics and glass. Therefore, the Guizikeng mountain area was once massively mined for industrial sandstone by porcelain clay operators. After grinding, the porcelain clay is washed with stream water. The surface has been severely damaged. The streams are messy and there are slag everywhere. Local residents call this place ‘Guizikeng’. Later, for a better-sounding name, they took its homophonic name as ‘Guizikeng’. Opening hours: Open all day throughout the year. The specific business status is subject to the opening situation on that day.
