Chiaravalle Abbey, located in Milan, Italy, is a renowned Cistercian monastery. The monastery was once surrounded by an independent town called Chiaravalle Milanese, which now belongs to the 5th district of Milan. Construction of the monastery began in 1135 as a daughter house of the Clairvaux Abbey in France. It is also one of the earlier Gothic architectural structures in Italy, yet it retains characteristics of Romanesque architecture. Opening hours are all year round, Tuesday to Friday, from 9:00 to 12:00 and from 15:00 to 17:00. Accessibility services include wheelchair-accessible parking and entrance.
