When Zhang Shizhen, the county magistrate in the 24th year of Qianlong, renovated it, he paved the corridor with bricks, moved the Rites Gate and the Righteous Path outside the Lingxing Gate, and dug a Pan Pool
Outside the pool, a ten-thousand-ren palace wall was set up
The Minglun Hall was raised by more than two feet
After subsequent renovations during the Jiaqing and Daoguang periods, in addition to raising the foundation of the temple, a pair of stone-carved coiled dragon eaves columns were replaced in front of the Dacheng Hall, and stone pillars were added to the surrounding eaves corridors, establishing the scale and layout of today’s Confucius Temple
