The Banana Bay Ecological Protection Area is located approximately one kilometer in the direction of Eluanbi from the Ship Sail Stone
In the early days, the ten-kilometer coastal line from Eluanbi to Kenting was covered with lush coastal forests
However, due to human cultivation and the planting of Manila hemp, the forest vegetation was damaged
It wasn’t until 1982, when it was designated as an ecological protection area, that the environment gradually improved
This region can be divided into four plant zones: the coastal coral reef plant zone, the sandy herbaceous plant zone, the coastal shrub plant zone, and the coastal forest plant zone
Visitors can enjoy the breathtaking view of the sea and sky merging into one line and also appreciate the diverse forest scenery, experiencing the wonders of multiple ecosystems
The area is open all year round, with full-day access, although specific opening hours are subject to the announcements at the scenic spot
