Wen Nuan Stone Slab Bridge was the main official road from Jiaoxi to Yilan during the Qing Dynasty
Originally constructed with six long stone slabs, it was later widened by adding cement columns to separate the slabs
It is said that the bridge was built using ballast stones from the mainland, transported by ships from Wushi Port through Dezhikou Creek to Wen Nuan Port
In the 17th year of the Guangxu era (1891), the bridge was reconstructed and a ‘Reconstruction of the Stone Bridge Donor Inscription’ was erected
Open all year round, accessible 24/7
