The temple was originally built in the 13th year of the Guangxu period, with its initial location at the North Gate Street of Dapu City
The statue of the City God is said to have been brought by the official responsible for developing Puli from Tainan in the 26th year of the Daoguang period, originally enshrined at the Lukang Mazu Temple
The temple is open all year round from 5:45 to 21:30
