With a history of over 180 years, Pingdong Academy was later transformed into the Confucius Temple
The Pingdong Confucius Temple blends the styles of a traditional academy and a grand hall, possessing distinctive academic characteristics
The front hall worships Confucius, Mencius, Yan Hui, and Zengzi, while the rear hall venerates the ancestors of Confucius
The eastern and western wings resemble study rooms
In addition to the front and rear halls and the wings, there are left and right rooms at the back
A characteristic of the academy’s architecture is the connection between the front and rear halls by a pavilion, which is a distinctive feature of southern architecture
Open all year round, Tuesday to Sunday, 8:00 am to 12:00 am
