The Nankun Temple of the Five Kings was established in 1661 and honors the five legendary kings, Li, Chi, Wu, Zhu, and Fan, who are said to have been ennobled by the Jade Emperor
The temple complex consists of three parts: the Temple of the Five Kings, the Central Military Mansion, and the City God’s Office
The entire temple is constructed from stone materials transported from the mainland, and its interior is adorned with exquisite carvings and paintings, making it a grand and magnificent site
For over three centuries, the Nankun Temple of the Five Kings has remained a thriving place of worship, especially during the annual temple fair held in the fourth lunar month when the area is filled with a sea of people, various floats, and performances, creating an exceptionally lively atmosphere
The temple is open all year round from 7:30 AM to 9:00 PM
