The most prominent structure on Mudou Islet is undoubtedly the Mudou Islet Lighthouse

9 meters, the lighthouse was constructed in 1899 to avoid corrosion, hence it was built with cast iron and painted with alternating black and white stripes as a conspicuous warning sign
It flashes every 20 seconds, with a candlepower of 500,000 and a range of 19 nautical miles
The Mudou Islet Undersea Tunnel is located at the northern end of Jibei Island, at the base of the cliffs
Visitors who come here usually engage in snorkeling nearby and wait for the tide to recede slightly, revealing the tunnel entrance, before entering to admire the ocean’s beauty
Oysters and other marine life can be seen on the rocky walls, while the seabed features coral reefs, schools of fish, and during high tide, one can observe pufferfish and tropical fish, making it a distinctive underwater landscape
However, it is recommended that visitors plan their visit around the first and fifteenth days of the lunar month when the tide is significantly lower for safety
