The Longkeng Ecological Reserve is located approximately 1
5 kilometers east of Eluanbi, characterized by unique landforms such as cliffs, fringing reefs, and canyons shaped by the erosion of winter waves
It is home to 215 species of coral reef coastal plants, various birds, and reptiles, making it a pristine natural reserve
Longkeng only opens to 200 visitors per day and requires advance booking
Between the control station and the coral reef terrace lies a 1
3-kilometer-long jungle area, which takes about 20 minutes to walk through
Along the way, one can observe a diverse range of vegetation, including casuarinas, rose myrtles, mountain pomelos, and beach bandicoot daisies
After passing through the windbreak forest, the view opens up to reveal the boundless blue sky, ocean, and coral reef grasslands
To protect the coral reefs, the reserve has constructed wooden walkways with two observation platforms
Standing on these platforms offers a panoramic view of the Taiwan Strait, the Bashi Channel, and the vast Pacific Ocean, with waves crashing ashore in a spectacular display
At the end of the walkway, one can marvel at the Longkeng Grand Canyon, formed by coral reefs and stretching tens of meters, a testament to nature’s extraordinary craftsmanship
Open all year round, Monday, Wednesday to Sunday from 8:00 to 17:00
Essential tips for visitors: 1
