Fengyi Academy is located next to the City God Temple in Fenggang Village, Fengshan City, and was established during the 19th year of the Jiaqing era (1814 AD)
It was initiated by the then county magistrate Wu Xingcheng, who called for donations and land contributions, and was subsequently built by Zhang Tingqin, a candidate for the position of instructor and a yearly tribute scholar
The academy features many distinctive architectural landscapes, such as the screen wall in front of the main gate, the drum stones on both sides of the main entrance, and the two dragons attached to them
The academy is open to the public from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM on Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year; and from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM on Tuesdays through Fridays
