Located in Beitun District of Taichung City, Dakeng Scenic Area is known as the ‘Y阳明 Mountain of Taichung’
The scenic area is bordered by Zhongxing Ridge to the north, Toushan to the east, Buziking Creek to the south, and Dalixi Creek to the west
It features six natural streams, including Dakeng Stream, Zhuoshuikeng Stream, Qingshuikeng Stream, Hengkeng Stream, Beikeng Stream, and Buziking Stream
Although the elevation is only 850 meters, the area is part of a water conservation forest and has steep terrain with minimal human development, preserving its original charm
The two ancient glacial periods and mountain-building activities have endowed the Dakeng Scenic Area with abundant natural resources
The Taichung City Government has developed eight hiking trails here, combined with leisure spots such as Zhongzheng Camping Area and Physical Fitness Training Field, making it a popular destination for hiking and fitness in Taichung City
