Hu Quan is from Luling Prefecture, Jiangxi. He was a vice minister of the Ministry of War in the Southern Song Dynasty. He is a famous statesman, writer, and patriotic official. Hu Quan is listed as one of the ‘Five Officials’ in the Five Officials’ Temple in Haikou and is commemorated by later generations.
