The Hainan Lianhuashan Cultural Tourism Scenic Area is located in Lanyang Town in the southeast of Danzhou City. It is connected to the Wan-Yang Expressway and has convenient transportation. It is 165 kilometers away from Haikou City and 243 kilometers away from Sanya City. The scenic area is known as a ‘blessed place’. It is said that more than 900 years ago, Su Dongpo came here to climb high and look into the distance, and pray and tour. In the 1950s, the original Lanyang Farm mined near the mountain and extensively mined limestone mines in Lianhuashan. The ecology of Lianhuashan was greatly damaged. The broken and exposed mountain lost the protection of green trees. When heavy rain struck, landslides and mudslides often occurred, and the lives and property safety of employees in the reclamation area were seriously threatened. Hainan Agricultural Reclamation Tourism Group focuses on ecological restoration and tourism integration on the broken mountain of Lianhuashan. Using mine pit restoration, environmental governance, cultural injection, and industrial driving as development methods, it turns waste into treasure and creates the Lianhuashan Cultural Tourism Scenic Area, achieving many remarkable ecological values.
The scenic area has won the titles of ‘the second batch of national forest-based health and wellness demonstration bases’ and ‘outstanding unit for the construction of national mine restoration demonstration projects’. The scenic area started construction in 2017 and plans to invest 370 million yuan. The total area is 8,800 mu. At present, the cumulative investment has reached 150 million yuan. The first phase of 4,500 mu began trial operation in September 2019. In November 2020, it was rated as a national 4A-level scenic area. It is also a 4A-level scenic area in western Hainan Province.
Opening hours: Open all year round from 08:00 to 17:00. Preferential policies: For the elderly: People aged 70 years old (inclusive) and above can enter for free with their senior citizen cards or ID cards. For the elderly: People aged 60 years old (inclusive) to 70 years old (exclusive) can enjoy discounts with their senior citizen cards or ID cards. For children: Children between 1.2 meters (inclusive) and 1.4 meters (exclusive) can enjoy discounts. For students: Full-time students from primary schools, middle schools, and universities can enjoy discounts with their student ID cards. For active-duty military personnel: They can enter for free with their military officer cards. For people with disabilities: They can enter for free with their disability certificates.
