Fuli Hongshuwan Wetland Park is located in Chengmai County, northern Hainan, adjacent to the provincial capital Haikou, and is approximately a 40-minute drive from Haikou Airport. It is also referred to as ‘the backyard of Haikou’. The park integrates the Hongshuwan wetland landscape, precious birds, and various leisure and entertainment centers, offering fresh air and pleasant scenery.
Walking along the 4.2-kilometer long wooden boardwalk within the park, visitors can enjoy the boundless ‘forest on water’, where trees with intertwined roots are rooted in the underwater mud, and their dense green leaves are full of vitality.
In addition to the mangrove wetlands, it is also worth visiting the Flamingo Island to see the flocks of ‘red sprites’. Watching their elegant postures and freedom is a unique experience. If you feel hungry while strolling, you can dine and rest at the Flamingo Restaurant or the Hongshuwan Style Market within the scenic area. There are also many surrounding hotels where you can choose to stay overnight and fully enjoy the leisure time. The park is open year-round from 08:30 to 17:30.
