Site of the First Congress of the Chinese Communist Party in Qiongyao

Located at No. 131, Bamboo Forest Lane, Jiefang West Road, Haikou, the ancestral home of Mr. Qiu Bingheng, built in 1919, is a typical Qiongbei residence with a brick and wood structure in a two-entry, three-room, four-courtyard style, with the main building facing north and auxiliary rooms on the east and west sides. This is the site of the First Congress of the Chinese Communist Party in Qiongyao.

Passing through the corridor on the left side of the main courtyard, one can see the small courtyard where the congress site is located. Here stands a 30-meter long and 3-meter high relief, vividly displaying the history of the Qiongyao people’s revolution, spanning three periods: the Agrarian Revolutionary War, the Anti-Japanese War, and the Liberation War, until the liberation of Hainan Island.
