Lingnan Normal University, located in Zhanjiang City, Guangdong Province, is a regular undergraduate institution. It is situated in the beautiful port city at the southernmost part of mainland China.
The predecessor of the university dates back to the Leiyang Academy, which was founded in 1636. The institution began offering teacher education in 1904 and was renamed Leizhou Normal College in 1978. In 1991, it was upgraded and renamed to Lingnan Normal University.
