Wanshan Mountain National Forest Park

Wanshan Mountain National Forest Park is located in the southern part of Shangsi County, where the environment is serene and boasts a pristine forest landscape. The park features continuous mountain ranges, cascading springs, and encircling green forests, making the scenery incredibly charming.

When visiting the scenic area, there are mainly two routes. The first leads to the ‘Southern Mountain Sleeping Buddha’ (named for its silhouette resembling a reclining Buddha when viewed from the south), and the second leads to the ‘Lion Mountain Sea View’ (named because the peak where it is located offers a panoramic view of the Beibu Gulf), which is the choice of most tourists. However, the journey from the park entrance to the mountaintop is quite long, taking about 3.5 hours to reach the summit, and it can only be done on foot. Visitors who wish to reach the top are advised to start early. If it gets late, even if you haven’t reached the summit, it is recommended to descend immediately.

If you choose the route to ‘Lion Mountain Sea View’, even without reaching the summit, the many attractions along the way will make your trip worthwhile. Several naturally formed pools along the way are great for splashing around, and attractions such as the Dragon Robe Tree, Love Net Unity, and the Three Forks River are also very enchanting.

The park is open all year round from 8:00 to 18:00.
