Guanyin Hall of Nanshan Temple

Nanshan Temple was built in the prosperous period of the Tang Dynasty and has a history of more than 1,200 years. Emperor Shenzong of the Ming Dynasty once bestowed the Buddhist plaque of ‘Haiyin’ to adorn its lintel. Dai Yao, the governor-general of Guangdong and Guangxi, also inscribed ‘The way of the Sixth Patriarch preaching Dharma in Caoxi’. Thus, Nanshan Temple became widely known. However, due to many reasons, Nanshan Temple gradually became deserted. After reconstruction, Nanshan Temple regained its former glory and continued the Buddhist lineage. The Guanyin Hall in the temple is a place where people pray and make wishes.
