The Ancient Battery and Grand Palace Scenic Area is located on the coast of Dijiao New Street, Beihai City, Guangxi. The Dijiao Ancient Battery is situated on Dijiao Ridge, which was constructed by Zhang Zhidong, the then Governor-General of Guangdong and Guangxi, to strengthen border defense against potential incursions by French forces into Beihai and Qinzhou.
