Tianmen Mountain, also known as ‘Tianping Mountain’, is located at the border between Tongling County and Qingyang County in the southeast, over 20 kilometers away from the city center. With a main peak elevation of 576.6 meters, it stands as one of the higher peaks within Tongling. Four kilometers to the west, the mountain range naturally breaks, creating a grand gorge between Tianmen Mountain and Wufeng Mountain. Another mountain range to the south connects Tianmen Mountain with Wufeng Mountain, arching up to form an arc-shaped peak higher than the gorge, resembling two giant doors that are about to open but have not yet done so. This colossal portal is referred to as the ‘Heavenly Gate,’ hence the name Tianmen Mountain.
On the north side of the main peak of Tianmen Mountain, there are two springs acclaimed by people as the ‘Holy Springs,’ named ‘Tianmen Spring’ and ‘Fan Tian Spring.’ These springs, imbued with the essence of nature, have been pouring forth nectar for a millennium, never drying up even in severe droughts. They stretch for several miles, eventually merging into the Yangtze River. These springs are not only a sight to behold but also nourish the fertile fields below the mountain, sustaining generations of mountain dwellers.

Tianmen Mountain boasts dense bamboo groves and lush trees, showcasing its charm to visitors. It is open all year round, accessible 24/7, with specific business hours subject to daily conditions.
