Former Residence of Chen Yingshi

The Former Residence of Chen Yingshi, constructed during the late Qing Dynasty, was originally a large complex known as ‘Wu Li Chang’, representing a typical southern-facing traditional Jiangnan residential architecture from the late Qing period. It is the place where the modern democratic revolutionary, Chen Yingshi, grew up and also the birthplace of his nephews, Chen Lifu and Chen Guofu. This site holds significant importance for commemorating revolutionary martyrs and conducting patriotic education.
The exhibition at the Chen Yingshi Former Residence Memorial Hall, themed ‘Heroic Spirit of Yingshi’, employs traditional methods such as sculpture, oil painting, and photographs, and innovatively incorporates time tunnels, 2D single-shot sceneries, traditional Huzhou woodblock prints, and honor walls. The display features precious cultural relics, replicas, photographs, artworks, and crafted items, vividly recreating the rich life trajectory and outstanding historical contributions of Chen Yingshi.
