The Eastern Jin Water City covers an area of 999 mu and has a construction area of more than 100,000 square meters. With Song-style and Republican architecture as the framework, the clear water quality of the thousand-year-old Dazong Lake as the carrier, new national style commerce as the content, new Chinese style garden hotels as the transition, and the ‘leisurely and comfortable’ life in the Lixia River area as the origin, it depicts a present-day version of ‘boats traveling in the water and people living on the islands’, a waterborne ‘Along the River During the Qingming Festival’. The Eastern Jin Water City contains ‘nine islands, seven rivers, three streets, two squares, one dock, one ferry crossing, and twenty-four bridges’. Looking down from the air, the nine small islands are like the shape of the Big Dipper. The nine islands are named after the Big Dipper and two hidden stars. One main river, the Shiliang River, runs through the nine islands, and twenty-four bridges with different styles gently connect the nine islands. In the water city, one cultural monument, two folk activities, two legendary light shows, three immersive experience places, four new Chinese style garden hotels, and five cultural experience venues. More than 100 national style and trendy businesses, workshops, intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, tea houses and restaurants fully and vividly display the thousand-year history of the Lixia River area and convey the spiritual origin of its comfortable life.
