Dongshan Scenic Area is located on the east bank of the middle reaches of the Cao’e River, the hermitage of the Eastern Jin Dynasty politician Xie An, and the location of the famous temple, Guoqing Temple. The idiom ‘Dongshan Zaiqi’ originates from here.
Inside the scenic area, there are still the tomb of Xie An, the tombstone, the Xitang Pool, and the Qiangwei Cave and other historical sites.
On the riverbank cliffs of Dongshan, there is a huge rock shaped like a finger, protruding towards the west along the river, named ‘Dongshan Finger Stone’, which is a famous landscape of Dongshan. Under the stone, there is the fishing stone where Xie An used to fish and the Zhishi Pool.
