Hanshan, also known as Hanshan or Hanshan Mountain, is located in Hanshan Village, Shanlian Town, Huzhou City. It is only 60 meters high and less than 100 mu in size. Hanshan has a unique geographical location. It is at the junction of Nanxun District, Tongxiang City and Deqing County. The Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal winds and passes by Hanshan. It is a beautiful scenic spot in the east of Huzhou. The Hanshan Tower on the top of the mountain was built in Yuanyou period of the Northern Song Dynasty. Since Sanshuang in the east of Hanshan is also a part of the birthplace of Hu pen, and the tower is tall and straight, it is also called Bi Tower. From 1993 to 1998, the Silkworm Flower Hall and Jingci Temple were rebuilt successively. The Silk Museum, Hanshan Legend Amusement Palace and water stand were newly built. The old scenic spot Xianren Pool was restored and the infrastructure was improved. During the Qingming Festival every year, hundreds of thousands of silkworm farmers and villagers within a radius of hundreds of miles come to Hanshan to hold silkworm flower fairs and worship the silkworm god. Now it has become one of the important festival activities of Huzhou silk culture. There is a legend of ‘Silkworm Flower Empress and White Horse Living in Jinshan Mountain’ in Hanshan. There is an extremely grand custom of ‘holding silkworm flower fairs’ here.
