The Huzhou Art Museum is committed to establishing a mission that is ‘rooted in Huzhou, deeply embedded in tradition, highlighting modern and contemporary art, while also considering the near-modern period, and promoting the history of Huzhou’s calligraphy and painting.’ Following the development history of Huzhou’s fine arts and calligraphy, the museum collects and exhibits works of art and calligraphy from various dynasties, as well as related cultural relics and materials. It always maintains a progressive direction, promotes local art, creates a distinctive Huzhou characteristic, and provides high-quality cultural services to the broad public, promoting tradition and publicizing Huzhou. The opening of the art museum is a cultural project that benefits the public and provides an important platform for the inheritance, exchange, and display of Huzhou’s artistic culture.
The museum is open throughout the year from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-16:30; during National Day, it is also open from 09:00-16:30.
