Jinhua City Museum

Located in the ancient Zicheng Historical and Cultural District, Jinhua City Museum covers a total construction area of 13,600 square meters, with an exhibition area of 4,700 square meters. The museum houses over 37,000 pieces (sets) of cultural relics and ancient books.

The exhibition is themed around Ai Qing’s famous line, ‘Why are my eyes always filled with tears? Because I love this land so deeply,’ and features five exhibition halls: ‘Ancient Charm of Ba Wu,’ ‘The Magic Land,’ ‘Local Customs,’ ‘Hometown of Craftsmanship,’ and ‘Poetry and Calligraphy Family.’ These halls interpret Jinhua from various disciplines and perspectives, including history, geology, sociology, industrial civilization, and cultural heritage, showcasing the profound historical and cultural heritage of Jinhua as a ‘land of historical culture, a land of magnificent mountains and rivers, a place of outstanding people, and a city of flourishing culture.’ Jinhua City Museum is a comprehensive prefecture-level museum integrating education, research, collection, protection, and display functions.

Opening hours are from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-16:30; closed all day on Mondays (except public holidays), and closed from Lunar New Year’s Eve to the third day of the Lunar New Year. The specific business status is subject to the daily opening conditions.

The museum’s souvenir shop, located at the South Gate of Jinhua City Museum, specializes in a variety of antique-style art pieces, stationery, toys, and snacks, and operates from Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00-16:00.
