Luxu Historical and Cultural Block is located in Wuzhong District, Suzhou City.
Luxu Ancient Town is situated to the north of Taipu River, to the south of Nanzagang Port, overlooking Zhejiang Province across Luxutang, to the west of Fen Lake, and to the east of Huaizikou Port.

It had already become a village during the Three Kingdoms period. During the Southern Dynasties, the son of Gu Ye Wang, a doctor of the Liang Dynasty, settled here, hence the name.

The intangible cultural heritage of Luxu is renowned both domestically and internationally, including Luxu Mountain Songs and Luxu Fast Boat Racing.
