The ancient town of Xixi, a millennium-old settlement, is the birthplace of ancient Dongyi Buddhism and the Liang-Huai salt culture, as well as the cradle of the legend of Dong Yong.
Xixi, an ancient town founded in the middle of the Western Han Dynasty, is home to the legendary story of Dong Yong and the Seven Fairies. The Dong Yong and the Seven Fairies Cultural Park, a cultural tourism destination, features a large-scale themed sculpture titled ‘Dong Yong and the Seven Fairies.’ This dual-standing statue, standing at 6.8 meters tall with a 2-meter-high platform, was designed by Professor Pan Xirou from the China Academy of Art.
The Dong Yong and the Seven Fairies sculpture, carved from white marble, captures both the divine and physical essence of the characters, silently narrating the millennia-old love story under the blue sky and white clouds.
