Renji Bridge is located on the west section of West Street in Wuzhen, running from north to south. It connects Cha Shi Street in the north and Si Zuo Street in the south.
It is a semi-circular single-arch stone bridge, with a total length of 22.6 meters, a height of 2.8 meters, 26 stone steps, and a clear span of 8.5 meters.
Due to the wooden gates set in the water under the bridge in the past, which were opened during the day and closed at night to prevent thieves from entering the town via water, Renji Bridge is also commonly known as the gate bridge, being the first pass of the northwest waterway of Wuzhen.
The bridge is open all year round and accessible 24 hours a day.
