The Sacred Hall

The Sacred Hall is located in Jiashan County, near the Wufu Bridge, and was originally built in the third year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty. It was formerly known as ‘Panggong Temple’, dedicated to the worship of Pang Shangpeng, who was a patrol officer of peace. Guan Yu, known as the God of War, is considered alongside Confucius, the Sage of Culture, as an eternal model for all generations, hence the name ‘The Sacred Hall’.
The Sacred Hall is a three-stage courtyard complex, and the deities enshrined within do not strictly adhere to the distinctions of Taoism or Buddhism.
