The New Fourth Army Memorial Hall

The New Fourth Army Memorial Hall is located on Jianjun East Road in the urban area. It is a New Fourth Army memorial facility with a large scale, comprehensive materials and obvious characteristics in the country. The memorial hall consists of three parts: the main hall area, Jianjun Square (Tongma Square), and the former site of the reestablished headquarters of the New Fourth Army.

The main hall area: Located in the east of the city, there are eight exhibition halls of historical materials exhibition halls, an armaments exhibition hall, a stele forest, a central square and other facilities. The exhibition hall of the memorial hall is a modern building. The flag-shaped granite stone carvings on both sides reproduce the historical scenes of the victorious会师 of the New Fourth Army and the Eighth Route Army at Shizikou, Baiju and the reestablishment of the headquarters of the New Fourth Army in Yancheng after the Southern Anhui Incident.

Jianjun Square: Located at the intersection of Jianjun Middle Road and Jiefang Road in the city center. In the middle of the circular garden of the square, stands the memorial tower for the reestablishment of the headquarters of the New Fourth Army with the bronze statue of the cavalry of the New Fourth Army as the main body. It is the city symbol of Yancheng.

The former site of the reestablished headquarters of the New Fourth Army: About 1.5 kilometers west from Jianjun Square. It consists of the front and back main halls, east and west wing rooms, mountain gate walls, etc. It mainly shows the old appearance of the headquarters of the New Fourth Army and displays various cultural relics, historical materials, pictures and so on.
