Xia Zhidao Island

Xia Zhidao Island is located near Taohua Island. The highest point on the island, Jiao’ao Mountain, reaches an elevation of 207 meters, and the coastline spans 57.02 kilometers. The island stretches in a northwest-southeast direction, with a slender shape resembling a shrimp’s body. It is named Xia Zhidao because of its shrimp-like form floating on the sea, and the numerous inlets that create a对峙之势.

In addition to its natural attractions such as peculiar peaks, unique rocks, fishing ports, and azure waters, Xia Zhidao Island also boasts historical relics and sites, including the Liangqing Temple, which has a history of nearly 200 years, and the ‘Yiyong Han Fei’ memorial plaque, which was erected over 120 years ago to commemorate the eight fishermen who sacrificed their lives in the fight against pirates.
